Portland Maine based clothing designer envisions a refined hallmark-like stamp to act as the signature for her hand-made apparel.
I met Kat briefly and made a few notes during our conversation about the general shape and color for the proposed logo, and how Kat would ultimately want the mark to read. This would be a simplified design featuring her name, preferably something contained and suitable for use as a stamp.
Final Draft -
Client’s Selection
I strung the three letters of Kat’s name symmetrically and compacted them. I used this base insignia to draft iterations in the style of the Hanko stamp, a traditional name seal used in Japanese culture to denote authorship of things like written text and works of art.

Kat received them four days after our first meeting and began branding her garments immediately.
I provided all of the materials Kat would need to brand her designs.
I ordered stamps for this project from my friends at RubberStamps.net
